3 women arrested at MIA after being accused of refusing to leave plane, report says

Three women were arrested at Miami International Airport on Sunday after being accused of not paying for a second carry-on bag and refusing to leave a plane they boarded, authorities said.

Nafisa Dockery, 30; Dionjana Cochran, 21; and Davana Cochran, 26, were charged with trespassing after being given a warning and resisting an officer without violence to their person.

According to authorities, the women were going to board a Frontier flight to Philadelphia, and while they were being checked onto the plane, an employee noticed that they had only paid for one carry-on bag but had two with them.

An arrest report said the employee told the three women to step out of line and to pay for the extra bag, but a verbal confrontation broke out. The employee told them that they would be removed from the fight if they didn’t pay for the bag.

Dockery told the other two to ignore the employee, and they rushed onto the plane and went past a door that was marked as restricted, the report said.

When deputies arrived at MIA, the report said, they met with a Frontier manager, who told them that the women’s passes were denied and wanted them to be removed from the flight.

Deputies then went on the flight, found the women and told them that their tickets were cancelled and that they needed to leave the plane, the report said. The women refused to leave, and deputies gave them multiple warnings to comply, or they would be arrested for trespassing.

As the women continued to refuse to leave, deputies cleared the plane, and as other passengers left the plane, the women started to leave, and Dockery spat on a person, the report said.

Once off the plane, deputies told the women to put their hands behind their backs, but they refused, and a struggle ensued.

Video posted on Only In Dade captured the three women in handcuffs being led out by deputies.

Deputies said the flight was delayed for one hour due to their actions.

The women were then taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
