Can’t stop, won’t stop chef Myles Moody and sommelier Rachael Pack. The duo behind Kinship Butcher & Sundry is in major expansion mode: with the upcoming opening of their new location of Kinship in Grant Park, they are now gearing up to open a new restaurant, So. Fox, this spring. They are doing this all while hosting their sold-out dinner pop-ups, k|n.
So. Fox (short for Southern Fox — another name for the Muscadine or Scuppernong grape) will open directly next door to Kinship in Virginia-Highland. It will feature a seasonal menu by Moody, and a natural wine program by Pack. The couple will tap into their fine dining experiences from two-Michelin-starred Aska (where the two met), Eleven Madison Park, and Blue Hill at Stone Barns, with a focus on proteins and produce sourced from local farms and small purveyors.
If the dinner pop-up k|n is any indication of the food, diners can expect a lot of intricate fermentation techniques, gorgeous cuts of beef and fish, and thoughtful organic and biodynamic wine and non-alcoholic pairings. So. Fox will seat 50 people, with renderings showing ample sunlight flooding a light wood-toned dining room. The building itself has historic significance to Atlanta.
“This main corner lot has been serving the Virginia-Highland community in a variety of ways for 100 years,” says building owner Lynn Dewitt in a statement. “It was originally a Standard Oil filling station and then expanded with Herrington Service Station for decades.”
The building was then converted to house Farm Burger, where So. Fox will go now. It will open in the coming months, and the second location of Kinship with an expanded seafood butchery will open this fall.
