Thousands of Logan flights canceled ahead of storm

Flight cancelations and delays were climbing quickly at Logan International Airport in Boston on Friday afternoon, even as the worst of the expected winter snowstorm isn’t expected to hit Massachusetts until Sunday evening.

Already 2,255 flights have been canceled for Saturday, and another 746 flights were canceled for Sunday, as of 2:30 p.m. Friday, according to tracking platform Flight Aware. Those numbers are expected to continue climbing as airlines make decisions about travel, according to Logan officials.
