I’m on board with hiring a young leader who’s worked with the right kind of people to lead us forward. I’m just also starting to understand the appeal of a transition team on the way there. There’s going to be a lot asked of the new HC and things they likely haven’t had to do before, etc. it worked with a Cowher and Tomlin, partly because they had great coordinators off the bat to bear some of the load. In Tomlin’s case, there was Lebeau who also offered some continuity and credibility with the defensive players.
