Paul Honda’s coverage of the Kamehameha vs. ‘Iolani girls’ basketball game was excellent, allowing discerning readers to understand the reason for the lopsided outcome: “Kamehameha finished 15-for-21 at the foul line. ‘Iolani was 4-for-7” (“Dunn’s 23 points, 13 rebounds lift No. 1 Kamehameha over No. 3 ‘Iolani,” Star-Advertiser, Jan. 14). Kamehameha was awarded three times as many free throws, and the 11-point discrepancy accounted for almost all of its 12-point victory margin.
