Hawaii has only one national cemetery, as do Idaho, Minnesota, Nevada, North Dakota and Wyoming. The 50th State’s congressional delegation would like to cross Hawaii off that list and now are seeking a second site for the islands. There are years of planning steps ahead, including studies and acquisition, but it seems logical that a neighbor island site would be the ultimate choice, land availability being a drawback for Oahu.
