Comment of the Week: 'A Dumb Phrase That Means Nothing'

Welcome back to the newly-launched “Comment of the Week,” where we—you fucking guessed it—highlight the best comment of the week from our gorgeous, brilliant readers.

This week, our winning comment comes from @Roguelike, who was brave enough to declare that the term “hard launch” and, by association, “soft launch,” is dumb. They commented on “After 3 Years Together, Timothée Chalamet Kind of Soft Launches Kylie Jenner on Instagram.”

I’m glad I’m finally an old, because the phrase “hard launch” is dumb, and while I know what it means, it’s a dumb phrase that means nothing, and it’s nothing words. Just like this entire comment.

The runner-up this week is @thebold, who left a lovely comment of support on @Roguelike’s comment:

You are a treasure for speaking up, though. It had to rankle even utilizing the phrase “an old.” Sending you much understanding and agreement and staying off your lawn 😘

We won’t always select a runner-up—but I appreciated @thebold’s camaraderie.

See you next week. Go Bears!
