The Sphere Is Coming To Washington D.C. And Here’s What You Can Expect
The Sphere Wizard of Oz When The Sphere first opened in Las Vegas, nobody quite knew what to expect. After all, it was just another concert venue, albeit in a unique shape with enhanced screens and soundsystems. What it has become, however, is one of the top concert venues not just in the country, but in the world. The brainchild of James Dolan’s Madison Square Garden Company and the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, the venue cost $2.3 billion to build, and features 580,000 square feet of LED displays around the exterior. But the interior is even more fascinating. It seats 17,600 people and has a total capacity of 20,000. And its video and audio capabilities include a 16K resolution wraparound interior LED screen, speakers with beamforming and wave field synthesis technologies, and 4D physical effects. BroBible’s own Brandon Wenerd and Cass Anderson attended Phish concerts at The Sphere and left absolutely mindblown. New Mini Sphere Planned For Washington D.C. Metro Area The Hollywood Reporter revealed Sunday that the state of Maryland had agreed to a deal with Sphere Entertainment for a second Sphere to be built at the National Harbor, just south of Washington D.C. The new venue, which is set to be a “Mini Sphere” of sorts, is set to be a 6,000-seat venue and the project will be financed with a mix of public and private funding, including tax incentives. “Our focus has always been on creating a global network of Spheres across forward-looking cities,” Dolan said of the new venue. The National Harbor Sphere will be the third in existence, following Las Vegas and a second that is under construction in Abu Dhabi. Developers are hoping the new venue will open by 2030. Women’s Hockey Brawl Creates Hilarious Photo Op When Haymakers Fly After Controversial PWHL No-Goal
A record-breaking crowd for women’s hockey cheered hysterically when a ferocious line brawl broke out between the New York Sirens and Montreal Victoire. PWHL fans in Washington D.C. were treated to one of the best on-ice fight in league history. Punches were flying! Much unlike the NHL, the women’s hockey players gathered together for a group photo just a few minutes after the situation was deescalated. It was a tremendous end to a tremendous game. The PWHL Takeover Tour stopped in Washington D.C. The Professional Women’s Hockey League is only a few years old. Founded in 2023, it is comprised of eight teams from the United States and Canada. Four from each country. The Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, New York Sirens and Seattle Torrent represent the United States. The Montreal Victoire, Ottawa Charge, Toronto Sceptres and Vancouver Goldeneyes represent Canada. There are a few differences between the PWHL and other pro hockey leagues, like a 3-2-1-0 points system and greater restrictions on body checking, but the general rules are the same. It’s hockey! As the league continues to grow in popularity across North America, it took its product on the road to 11 different markets that currently do not have a team. The PWHL will play games in Dallas, Hamilton, Quebec City, Halifax, Edmonton, Calgary, Detroit, Chicago, Winnipeg, Denver and Washington D.C. a part of the ‘PWHL Takeover Tour.’ The fans showed up in a massive way on Sunday. Not only did they witness a hard-fought, one-goal game that went right down to the final horn, they witnessed a controversy and saw an epic brawl. The controversy took place on a power play during the early third period. Montreal appeared to tie the game but the goal was called off. It was ruled that the puck did not cross the line. huge moment/save that would have tied the game was called no goal due to inconclusive evidence that the puck crossed the line. thoughts on the call? pic.twitter.com/NyjaBCG2rx— Jocks In Jills (@JocksInJills) January 18, 2026 Tensions were already heightened in front of a raucous crowd. The controversial no goal added even more fuel to the fire. Knucks were chucked during a hockey brawl between the Montreal Victoire and the New York Sirens. The Victoire trailed the Sirens by just one goal with less than 30 seconds remaining during the third period when a bouncing puck in front of the net gave them a chance to tie the game. Both teams scrambled to make something happen. Montreal poked and prodded as the defense tried to clear the puck out of danger. New York goalie Kayle Osborne ultimately covered it up to secure the win. And then it was on. Some initial pushing and shoving very quickly escalated to a fight. Sirens forward Kristyna Kaltounkova exchanged punches with Victoire defenseman Maggie Flaherty after she was pulled away from the scrum by an official. Sirens forward Taylor Girard came flying in out of nowhere to steamroll Flaherty. Players from both teams were thrown to the ground as the referees tried (and failed) to restore order. The PWHL crowd went bonkers. pic.twitter.com/gfJLgcRELs— – (@Spicoli_____) January 19, 2026 Here is how it looked from the stands: Nothing beat a good ole fashioned line “brawl” to end a woman’s professional hockey game! pic.twitter.com/kkBjHNkJRS— Steve (@Trap_33) January 19, 2026 Here is how it looked from the ice: The PWHL game ended with VIOLENCE : @callmekatina pic.twitter.com/T7uNp48i11— RMNB (@rmnb) January 18, 2026 Flaherty, Girard, Kaltounkova, Abby Roque, Hayley Scamurra, Marie-Philip Poulin, Maja Nylen Persson and Micah Zandee-Hart all received 10-minute misconduct penalties for the brawl. Terrell Owens, Former NFL Players Argue Bears WR DJ Moore Is Actually To Blame For Caleb Williams’ 3rd INT
The Chicago Bears’ promising first season under rookie head coach Ben Johnson came to a brutal end on Sunday with a 20-17 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Rams at home. The loss came despite QB Caleb Williams throwing a miracle game-tying touchdown pass with just 14 seconds remaining in regulation. While the game-tying touchdown pass to tight end Cole Kmet will be the play that’s most remembered from this game, Caleb Williams’ performance was a mixed bag, 23 of 42 passes for 257 yards, 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. More importantly, he was 10 for 23 with a touchdown and two interceptions in the second half and overtime, with his last pick coming when the Bears had the chance to win the game with a field goal. That interception, however, may not have been his fault, as both former NFL players and fans alike are placing the blame on wide receiver DJ Moore for quitting on the route. Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore appears to be at fault for Caleb Williams’ third interception against the Los Angeles Rams Why did dj moore just start jogging then completely stop pic.twitter.com/ekYFPeHo8H — John (@iam_johnw) January 19, 2026 Longtime NFL backup quarterback Chase Daniel broke down the play in detail on Twitter, with Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens also agreeing that Moore is to blame. You can’t blame Caleb Williams for the INT in OT….. the Bears have the absolute perfect play called The lack of effort by #2 is really telling….you can’t give up on this route like this. #DaBears pic.twitter.com/E584tOmEQR — Chase Daniel (@ChaseDaniel) January 19, 2026 That interception was NOT on Caleb!! What in THE HELL was the receiver thinking/doing?!!! #NFCDivisional @bears @RamsNFL — Terrell Owens (@terrellowens) January 19, 2026 HoF signal-caller and Super Bowl winner Kurt Warner also had some issues with the route that Moore ran. Looked to me like CW expected DJ to flatten and cross safety face and DJ just stayed high and ran to be covered??? Maybe not an adjustment they had talked about but can’t imagine!! — Kurt Warner (@kurt13warner) January 19, 2026 This angle of the Caleb interception shows what happened. D.J. Is a baller but this isn’t a good play for him. He’s not running full speed and EVERY WR and TE know you have to flatten the route as much as possible to stay inside the safety. #DaBears pic.twitter.com/zURGsB2CWO — Clay Harbor (@clayharbs82) January 19, 2026 According to reports, Moore was not spotted in the locker room during media availability and therefore did not take any questions from reporters. Indiana Football Coach Curt Cignetti Applies Outcome-Oriented Mindset To Booze More Efficiently
Curt Cignetti / Indiana Hoosiers Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti is one of college football’s most detail-obsessed personalities. His focus on processes and outcomes has the Hoosiers in the national title game. The program is a perfect 15-0 on the year with its final game approaching. Cignetti admitted to celebrating each of those wins with a cold beer. His outcome-oriented mindset won’t allow him to booze inefficiently. Cignetti is in Year 2 with the program after leading James Madison for two seasons. Across four campaigns as an FBS head coach, he’s gone 45-6. The man just wins. Google it. This year has been his best yet. Curt Cignetti has Indiana playing for a national championship. He’s already won the Big Ten, s0mething that hadn’t happened in Bloomington since 1967. He coached the program’s first Heisman winner in Fernando Mendoza. His 15 wins this season are a school best. Cignetti has re-written record books in just two years. He’s completely changed the outlook of the future. Indiana is no longer a basketball school! He’ll have a chance to further make history when facing Miami in the national title. The Hoosiers have never won a college football championship. If he does pull off the feat, he will celebrate accordingly. After a Peach Bowl win over Oregon, he said the following: Indiana HC Curt Cignetti: “I’m not thinking about the next game. I’m thinking about cracking open a beer.” #CFP pic.twitter.com/RNXmeNPyEW — Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) January 10, 2026 He cracked a cold beer after advancing to the title matchup. His running backs coach said it’s somewhat of a tradition. “I don’t know what his favorite type of beer is,” Miller told CBS Sports. “But he’ll celebrate for a little bit and then it’s on to the next opponent.” Cignetti is efficient. His offense currently ranks No. 2 in college football’s efficiency rankings. The defense ranks No. 3. Attention to detail is a big reason why. “He’s all ball pretty much all the time,” said assistant Chandler Whitmer. His staff describes his perfect day as being a film study in a dark room. A Nick Saban disciple, that comes as no surprise. Much like his mentor, he rarely seems satisfied. He shows little emotion on the sidelines. His focus is one play at a time, no matter score or situation. Execution is key. Distractions are unwelcome. That approach has proven extremely successful on the football field. It’s something that carries over into his beer drinking, according to one James Madison booster. I have some insight into this from a JMU booster friend that I think is… telling https://t.co/gqt061o9gU pic.twitter.com/WE1ToCvBOJ — David Covucci (@DavidCovucci) January 18, 2026 The booster recalled Curt Cignetti’s attendance at donor event at a local brewery. The head coach did not reference the drinks by name, only by alcohol content. He has one mission in boozing – to take the edge off after 3.5 hours of on-field stress. And he knows how to get the job done in the most efficient way possible. One of his co-workers described as being a “double IPA” guy, though specifics on his favorite brand of beer is still a bit hazy. With all of that being said, he also knows when to call it a night. Cignetti enjoys a beverage but won’t go overboard. The end-goal is not a hangover. “Just one,” the coach replied when asked about his typical limit. “At my age when you drink two, you fall asleep.” Cignetti hopes to enjoy one more on Monday night after a national championship win.
