Gunfire erupted Monday afternoon in Southeast D.C., leaving a man dead on Benning Road.
The shooting happened at around 2:30 p.m. right on the line between D.C. and Prince George’s County, Maryland outside of a Shell gas station and a grocery store.
The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately clear, but police said they are looking a for black Acura four-door sedan with heavy window tint and a sunroof.
News4 saw what looked to be some sort of snow cone setup at the scene with a police cruiser right next to that snow cone setup, but it’s unclear whether it has anything to do with the investigation.
The area of Benning Road where D.C. meets Maryland is closed off as of around 5 p.m. Monday as police investigate.
