The guys evaluating Mason's play aren't looking at the result of the play. They are looking at Mason's execution and potential for growth. And the league wide consensus is "Not a starter", because all it takes is 1 organization who sees potential and Mason would have his chance.
Teams want to see tape and lots of it. No tape = no money. Fields had tape. MR didn't have enough. Bear in mind these are the same GMs that thought Tom Brady was a 6th round pick. And that Brock Purdy was Mr. Irrelevant.
If Rodgers doesn't come back, the job's MR's to lose.
