WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — National commercial security solutions provider Security 101, a portfolio company of Gemspring Capital, today announces the acquisition of Pleasanton, Calif.-based True Security – East Bay.
The acquisition includes locations serving San Francisco, San Jose, San Mateo, Gilroy and Sacramento, Calif., according to the joint announcement.
Northern California “represents one of the most dynamic and demanding security markets in the United States, driven by dense commercial development, critical infrastructure and a concentration of global technology headquarters,” according to the joint announcement. “The region’s combination of scale, innovation and operational complexity makes it a strategically important market for organizations with evolving security needs.”
Why is Security 101 Acquiring True Security – East Bay?
“Northern California is a market where security expectations are shaped by scale, innovation, and constant change,” says Greg Daly, CEO of Security 101, in the joint announcement. “True Security – East Bay brings deep regional knowledge and a team that understands how to operate in environments where reliability and adaptability matter every day.

Founded and led by Robert Chamberlin, True Security – East Bay “has built a strong reputation for delivering advanced security solutions to commercial and enterprise customers throughout the region,” according to the joint announcement. Chamberlin will continue to lead the business as general manager, overseeing local operations and supporting the integration of teams and services.

What the Acquisition Means
The acquisition “reflects Security 101’s continued focus on thoughtful growth through the integration of established regional operators,” according to the joint announcement. “By pairing experienced local leadership with shared systems, resources, and standards, the company continues to expand its national presence while preserving the local expertise that customers rely on.”
With this acquisition, Security 101 “deepens its ability to serve organizations across technology, life sciences, commercial real estate, logistics and other sectors that demand resilient, future-ready security systems,” the announcement says.
