BYU Overcomes Sluggish Start, Cruises to Win Over UCF

UCF jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead, but BYU settled down in the second quarter on both sides of the ball to win 41-21 Saturday in Provo.

Bear Bachmeier completed 21/25 passes for 289 yards and 1 TD and LJ Martin paced BYU on the ground with 95 rushing yards and 3 TDs. With Chase Roberts out before the Big 12 Title Game, Parker Kingston stepped up and was the star of the game. Kingston caught 6 passes for 126 yards and 1 TD and returned a punt for a TD in the third quarter. BYU held UCF’s offense to 296 yards and won the turnover battle 2-0.

BYU finishes the regular season 11-1 and keeps their at-large playoff hopes alive, but will likely need some help from teams above them. BYU can clinch a spot in the CFP with a win next week over Texas Tech in the Big 12 Championship Game. The game kicks off at 11am CT on ABC at the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas.
