Democrat Xavier Becerra wins California governor's race, defeating Republican Steve Hilton

Kristaps Porziņģis is not receiving a dime from the Warriors right now.

While the veteran center remains away from the team as he deals with a health issue, Golden State is not delivering payments to Porziņģis, ruling that he is not rendering services, ESPN’s Shams Charania and Anthony Slater reported Wednesday, citing sources.

As Charania mentions, the Warriors are permitted to move his contract at any point before the Feb. 11 trade deadline, even without paying him, and will continue to exhaust trade avenues as Porziņģis leans toward retiring from the NBA.

Charania originally reported on Oct. 21 that the Warriors were exploring trade routes for Porziņģis, and it doesn’t appear that they have had much luck moving the contract in recent weeks.

Porziņģis’ failure to render services early on in the 2026-27 NBA season, as ESPN’s Bobby Marks pointed out on X, is costing him a hefty price.

It’s unclear what the future holds for the 31-year-old center, but it’s clear that the Warriors, at least mentally, have moved on from the former All-Star, even as he remains on their roster.
