Brooklyn opened its 60th season with a 110-103 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. The Hornets scored 48 points inside the paint, shot 17-of-22 at the rim, and added 20 second-chance points, exposing some of the concerns surrounding the Nets’ positional-size approach. Mikel Brown Jr. remains on a minutes restriction on Saturday and then he’ll sit on Sunday.
Opening Night was great until it wasn’t for the Cleveland Cavaliers. They blew a 29-point lead to the Philadelphia 76ers 0n national television. Don’t be surprised if they’re fired up in front of their home crowd.
