Pregame notes

Dybantsa’ debut — It’s been 117 days since the Washington Wizards selected Dybantsa with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft. 117 days since a Wizards program that won 17 games in 2025-26 found new life behind the hopes of a 6-foot-9, 217-pound 19-year old.

But as Washington prepares to host Milwaukee in its 2026 season opener on Wednesday, October 21, Dybantsa is still dealing with an ankle injury from the end of the preseason and is listed as day-to-day.

The former BYU Cougar averaged 25.5 points 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists in his one-and-done freshman season in Provo, Utah, before delivering 12.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and two assists over four preseason outings with Washington.
