Dallas voters to weigh in on $443 million public-safety bond package

2026 Midterm Election

Dallas voters are being asked to approve a $443 million bond package to pay for five public safety projects. The city’s estimate puts the total repayment at about $629.6 million, including principal and interest, based on market conditions.

The $443 million would be used for the following:

  • $82 million for a law enforcement training center
  • $149 million for a public safety training complex
  • $40 million for an emergency operations center and 911 facility
  • $150 million for a facility to store DPD propety, evidence and a forensic crime la
  • $22 million for a replacement of Fire Station No. 4

Property taxes would support the debt, and the ballot will state “THIS IS A TAX INCREASE,” but the city says its tax rate will not increase as a result of the bond program.
