Heading into this digital match up, Ole Miss is 5-0 and #2 in the country while Missouri is unranked with a 4-2 roster. They also obviously have Ahmad Hardy as the starting running back, but Roberts has been so good, we can accept the performance by Hardy as a reasonable result regardless.

Let’s see how EA thinks the Rebs will do with Austin Simmons and the Tigers coming in town.

1st Quarter

Missouri started with the ball and all concerns with the Ole Miss defense were valid immediately. On the second play of the game, Austin Simmons busted off a 72 yard touchdown run. And just like that the Rebs were down 7-0. But as we know, when Trinidad Chambliss is your quarterback, there’s no need to panic. Kewan Lacy was able to find the endzone on a 36 yard run to tie it up. The Tigers were able to get a field goal before the end of the quarter in a bend, don’t break win for the Rebs.

End of 1st: 10-7 Missouri

2nd Quarter

On the ensuing Rebel drive, Chris Graves Jr. picked off Trinidad’s pass which set up Missouri to score another field goal, going up 13-7. That would be it for the Tigers in the first half. Chambliss and Lacy each scored on the ground while Simmons threw a rare interception to Jay Crawford.

End of 2nd: 21-13 Ole Miss

3rd Quarter

Talk about foot on the gas and no let up. The Rebels absolutely dominated the third quarter. Trinidad Chambliss threw three touchdown passes in the third, two to Deuce Alexander and another to Horatio Fields. Luke Ferrelli was able to get a sack in this frame, but Missouri missed a field goal and failed to convert a fourth down.

End of 3rd: 42-13 Ole Miss

4th Quarter

In the fourth, Cayden Lee was able to find the endzone for only his second reception of the game. Ahmad Hardy was also able to score but Missouri missed the two point conversion attempt. Lucas Carneiro was able to get on the board for icing on the cake.

Final: 45-26 Ole Miss

Story of the Stats

Missouri was able to outgain Ole Miss 554-478. The Tigers were also able to run for 248 yards compared to 137 for the Rebels. Chambliss had 342 passing yards and four total touchdowns. The major issue for Missouri was going 4-13 on 3rd down and 0-2 on fourth.

Find it kind of odd the game chose Cayden Lee as the lone touchdown recipient and Chris Graves Jr. the player picking off Chambliss. But Lee is Simmons’ safety blanket so he will have to be contained on Saturday.
