A Branford woman is facing multiple charges after reportedly striking a juvenile with her car and leaving the scene, police said.
Branford police were called to Pine Orchard Road on Wednesday on the report that a vehicle hit a juvenile riding an e-scooter and left the scene.
The juvenile was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition, officials said.
Branford investigators reviewed surveillance video from a nearby home and saw a white Subaru SUV stop after the crash and then drive away. Police said the footage, along with other evidence and witness statements, confirmed that a white Subaru Forester struck the juvenile.
Investigators later found the vehicle and identified the driver.
Police arrested 82-year-old Joan Lindell and charged her with driving under the influence, first-degree risk of injury, second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, and evading responsibility.
Lindell was held on a $50,000 bond.
