White Sox lineup for Game 4 features several changes ahead of possible clincher

The Chicago White Sox have made some changes for their lineup heading into Game 4 of the American League Division Series.

Those changes come as the Cleveland Guardians start lefty Parker Messick, and the lineup is the same as the one the White Sox used in their Game 1 showdown at Progressive Field.

Chase Meidroth will bat lead-off for the White Sox against the lefty, with Sam Antonacci starting the game on the bench for the Sox.

Tristan Peters will also start the game on the bench, with Randal Grichuk playing left field and batting second in the order.

Catcher Kyle Teel is batting seventh, and Brenton Doyle will get the start in center field, batting sixth for the White Sox.

The changes come a day after the White Sox set an MLB record with 19 strikeouts in a nine-inning postseason game, breaking a record that had been set in 2020 by the New York Yankees.

Here is the team’s full lineup:

1 2B Chase Meidroth

2 LF Randal Grichuk

3 3B Miguel Vargas

4 1B Munetaka Murakami

5 DH Tommy Pham

6 CF Brenton Doyle

7 C Kyle Teel

8 RF Braden Montgomery

9 SS Colson Montgomery

Hagen Smith, who was the opener in Game 1 of the series, will fill the same role for Game 4, with first pitch set for 7 p.m. at Rate Field.
