What I Want to See From Penn State Against Northwestern

Last we saw of the Nittany Lions, they were busy blowing a 17-point lead with conservative play calling and poor quarterback play. How will they respond this week?

Aggression from start to finish

If there’s one thing I want to be done with, is the idea of getting an early lead and holding on to it for dear life. Last week gave me flashbacks of many a time when two of our three previous coaches would get up early, and, seemingly as if surprised they managed a lead, would turtle up with conservative play calling, and oftentimes, would give away the game.

I want Saturday to be a one-time only deal, and our first opportunity comes this week. Whether they’re up 10, down 10, or anything in between or beyond, I want the team to attack until the clock hits zero.

Treat Rocco Becht like a freshman

Becht had by far his worst performance as a Nittany Lion on Saturday, and arguably the worst performance in recent memory. If what it takes to not have a repeat event is to get him easy completions to find a rhythm, so be it.

Red zone efficiency

This is probably a season-long request, but it would be nice if they had a few trips to the red zone that ended in touchdowns instead of field goals, or worse, nothing.
