Commanders receiver Antonio Williams had a stellar debut against the Philadelphia Eagles in the regular-season opener, with four catches for 64 yards and a massive-fourth quarter touchdown destined for a highlight reel. And he did all that in just 10 routes run.
He was honored for the effort, being named the rookie of the week on Thursday.
Williams earned the recognition via a fan vote conducted this week. Commanders fans are excellent at getting their rookies rewarded, as we’ve seen over the past few seasons. Quarterback Jayden Daniels holds the record, having won this award 11 times in 2024, with Mikey Sainristil picking up a team-total 12th by taking the honor in Week 18 of the ‘24 season. Last year, Jaylin Lane and Bill Croskey-Merritt (who won four times) continued the tradition of Commanders winning ROTW.
