Welcome to Week One of Chargers football!
The Chargers are at home to kickoff the 2026 season as they host the Arizona Cardinals.
Arizona is coming off a 3-14 season where they saw former Jonathan Gannon get fired after another underwhelming season. They drafted running back Jeremiyah Love with the third-overall pick and hope he will be a X-factor as a rookie.
The Chargers are coming off a second consecutive 11-win season where they once again made the postseason but failed to progress past the wild card round.
With new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel now calling the offense, the sky is now the ceiling for this Los Angeles offense led by Justin Herbert.

First Quarter
The Cardinals came out hot on offense to start the game after receiving the opening kickoff.
On the first play from scrimmage, quarterback Jacobby Brissett found tight end Trey McBride for a 27-yard gain. They converted on multiple third downs as well, including a Brissett scramble on third-and-eight. Rookie running back Jeremiyah Love capped the drive off with a five-yard touchdown run in which he bounced outside to the left and beat Cam Hart to the pylon.
Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense retaliated with their own explosive drive led by Ladd McConkey’s three receptions for 60 yards. Once in the red zone, Omarion Hampton bowled over a trio of Cardinals defenders and left tackle Rashawn Slater helped push him into the end zone from nine yards out to tie the game at 7-7 with 4:22 remaining in the period.
