At long last, Jacksonville’s 2026 season opener is upon us. The Jaguars will host the Cleveland Browns at EverBank Stadium to kick off their quest to Super Bowl LXI.

First quarter
Cleveland won the coin toss and elected to receive. They started fast: Dylan Sampson broke a B.J. Green II tackle to take the kickoff to the 40-yard line, then Deshaun Watson completed two 1st down passes. But Foye Oluokun stepped in front of Watson’s third attempt to generate Jacksonville’s first turnover of the season!
The Jaguars’ offense began with four straight runs, then Trevor Lawrence completed two passes — one for a 30-yard touchdown — to who else but Parker Washington?!

After forcing a three-and-out on defense, Lawrence led another impressive touchdown drive, this time finding the rookie Josh Cameron in the endzone!

Second quarter
Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker met in the middle of the backfield for a 3rd down sack to force another three-and-out. Travis Hunter and Nate Boerkircher got active on offense, helping Jacksonville nearly reach the redzone before Cam Little came on for a 47-yard field goal.

Ventrell Miller knocked the ball out and Hines-Allen fell on it, then Lawrence connected with Brenton Strange for another touchdown! The Jaguars are ROLLING!

Third quarter
Jacksonville’s offense picked up right where it left off, as Lawrence found Jakobi Meyers in the endzone for a 32-yard touchdown! I know it’s just the Browns, but is it too early to start talking about the Super Bowl?

Cleveland was finally able to get on the board because Jacksonville’s kickoff coverage allowed a Brown returner to get all the way to the other 23-yard line. Andre Szmyt connected on the 26-yard attempt.

Jacksonville responded with a 10-play, 47-yard drive that took seven minutes off the clock and resulted in a 40-yard field goal.

Fourth quarter
Cleveland finally put together a real offensive drive, but it sputtered out on a turnover on downs. Backup quarterback Nick Mullens has entered the game for Jacksonville.
Rookie receiver Denzel Boston beat Buster Brown downfield for a 46-yard touchdown.
