Villanova forward Brynn McCurry announced that she will miss the 2026-27 season with a torn ACL.
McCurry took to social media to share the announcement following a successful surgery last week. This is the third time that McCurry has suffered a torn ACL.
Last season, McCurry averaged a career-best 10.7 points with 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. She shot 20-for-55 (36.4%) from three-point range. McCurry will have one year of eligibility remaining.
“Since I was a little girl, I dreamed of playing at the collegiate level, and I never imagined my senior year would look like this,” McCurry wrote. “You spend years imagining how these moments will unfold, never picturing they would come with this many injuries and setbacks.”
McCurry first tore the ACL in her left knee during her senior year of high school. She tore the ACL in the other knee in 2024 and returned to the court nine months post-surgery. McCurry also suffered a torn UCL that led to Tommy John surgery in April.
This marks the fourth major surgery for the forward in four years and she is determined as ever to return to the court.
“I gave everything I had to this game,” McCurry wrote. “And in the moments where it got hard, I held onto the fact that God doesn’t write incomplete stories. So, I’m walking into this next season of healing with a heart full of peace because this game has given me so much more than it took.”
