Week 1 is in the books for Michigan State, and Pat Fitzgerald is already focusing on the week 2 opponent. But we still have one last order of business to attend to at TOC. Each week, we will put out a survey at the conclusion of the game asking you to vote on the player of the game.
For the opener against Toledo, we presented four candidates – QB Alessio Milivojevic, RB Cam Edwards, WR Rodney Bullard, Jr. and K Liam Boyd. At one point in the voting, the eventual winner was sitting on 66% of the vote. He still ended up with over half of the vote, finishing at 56%. Congratulations to Boyd on earning the top individual honor for week 1.
Boyd would finish his day going 5/6 on his field goals and converting his sole extra point try. His FGs were from 32, 42, 48, 35, and 51 yards. His miss came on a block from 54 yards. The 16 points that he tallied represented more than half of MSU’s points on the day, just like his percentage of the vote.
