4 things to know about the weather:

High pressure over the Great Lakes will move in our direction Monday and bring us several very nice days for this last week of August. Humidity levels started dropping on Sunday, and that trend will continue.
There have been a few showers in western Maryland, but they are falling apart as they get closer to our area, and it’s unlikely that anyone in or around Metro D.C. gets a drop. Remnant clouds will move away quickly, and our skies will be mostly sunny from mid-morning onward.
Most of the D.C. area will see highs only reaching the low 80s on Monday afternoon. Monday night and Tuesday night will be open-window weather for many, as temperatures north and west of Dulles Airport fall into the 50s. Closer to the urban areas and Chesapeake Bay, overnight lows will drop into the low to mid-60s.

Tuesday and Wednesday also look good. Tuesday will be much like Monday, with sunny skies and low humidity. Wednesday will see a gradual increase in clouds and humidity levels, as high head for the mid-80s.
A storm front will arrive on Thursday, and rain chances will increase accordingly. There could be a few showers Thursday morning, but most of the rain will in the form of thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening. The front will only slowly drift to our south on Friday, leaving some residual showers in your Friday forecast. As we head into the weekend and humidity levels remain elevated, there will be scattered storms each afternoon. Weekend rain chances are only around 20-30% for Saturday and 10-20% for Sunday.
