MKDWELL Tech Skyrockets in Premarket: A Buy Stock?

NASDAQ: MKDW shares are on fire this morning. The Taiwan-based automotive tech company saw its stock surge an astonishing 282.21% in premarket trading, hitting $1.22, up from Wednesday’s close of just $0.3172. This unexpected rally has made MKDW one of the hottest topics across trading forums and social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter),  where investors are buzzing about the stock’s explosive move.

MKDWELL, known for its cutting-edge vehicle tech – including smart RV control system, Lidar sensors, and seat control control systems – focuses heavily on the electric vehicle market. With a limited public float, the stock is prone to sharp swings, and today’s dramatic rise may be the result of a short squeeze, though no official news has been released to confirm this.

This isn’t the first time MKDW has made headlines. The stock soared to $16 last July before crashing to just $0.17 in April, a brutal 97% drop over the past year. The company has faced real challenges, including a steep 61.3% revenue decline and growing losses in early fiscal 2024. Yet, it remains on the radar thanks to its ambitious R and D efforts and a merger with Cetus Capital last summer, which led to its Nasdaq debut on August 1, 2024.

Today’s premarket action, recorded at early morning, saw heavy volume and wild price swings – from $0.50 to $1.75 in minutes. Traders credit MKDW’s tiny float and its status as a high-volatility EV play for the sudden spike. Still, with no confirmed catalyst behind the jump, some analysts are urging caution, warning that such rapid gains could reverse when the regular session opens at 9.30 am EDT.
