Something new is coming to Portillo’s, and the popular Chicago-area fast casual restaurant teased the upcoming release in a cryptic social media post.
Portillo’s shared posts featuring images of solid colors and the caption “1.27.26” on their social media profiles Wednesday.
The colors in the post on X are a cherry red, a dark maroon almost brown color, teal and mustard yellow, while their Instagram post has the addition of a cream-colored image.

Though the hot dog chain gave no further explanation for what is to come, many commenters speculated that the colors could represent new sauces.
Those guesses could be on the right track given a new “Comeback Sauce” celebrating the record-breaking number of comebacks this season by the Chicago Bears was announced by Portillo’s last month, with a release date of sometime in January. The restaurant describes the sauce as a creamy, tangy dipping sauce with black pepper, garlic and paprika.
Portillo’s also changed their profile icon on their social media accounts to feature the colors.
