A motorcyclist was seriously injured following a multi vehicle crash in Southington.
Southington police and fire departments were called to the crash in the area of Meriden Waterbury Turnpike and Canal Street Thursday afternoon.
Officials said the accident involved four cars and a motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
The roadway is currently closed in the following locations:
- Meriden Waterbury Road at Clark Street
- Meriden Waterbury Road at Knotter Drive
- Canal Street at Burritt Street
- Peck Lane at West Johnson (Cheshire)
Drivers are asked to avoid the area as police continue to investigate the crash.
