Dine LA Restaurant Week begins: All sorts of cuisines, a caboodle of price points, and dozens of Southern California neighborhoods, towns, and cities are represented in this two-week dine-around delight. Prices start at $15 for lunch at some spots, while other places splash out for a multi-course night. Check the site to find out what foodie fun is up in your area, then sup, and save, from Jan. 23 through Feb. 6.
Festival of Human Abilities: The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach is the longtime home for this fantastic cultural celebration, one that features dance, singing, and a host of art performances. The Jan. 24 and 25 happening, which spotlights “… the creative talents and abilities of people with disabilities,” is included with admission. Look for several workshops on the busy schedule, too.
Long Beach Black Restaurant Week: It’s the fourth year for this ultra-appetizing extravaganza, one that features over a dozen dining spots (with restaurants, food trucks, caterers, and more playing a delicious part). Honor “… the city diverse Black food scene” by visiting Georgia’s, The Cultured Soul, or another local gem from Jan. 23-31; details about dishes are available on the site.
Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure Park begins: The Anaheim theme park will honor a host of cultural traditions from Vietnam, China, and Korea during the 31-day spectacular, a tradition that brims with joy, yummy treats, and some vibrant entertainment options. “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession” is a time-honored favorite, and “Hurry Home — A Lunar New Year Celebration” sparkles ahead of “World of Color Happiness! presented by Pandora Jewelry.”
Pasadena Cheeseburger Week: The Crown City is well-known for its great and diverse cuisines. And when late January arrives? The hankerings turn to melty, cheesy, hearty fare. The cheeseburger got its sizzling start in Pasadena over a century ago, and now restaurants celebrate the icon with deals, stand-out burgers, and the Cheeseburger Challenge. The juicy stretch lasts from Jan. 25-31 in 2026, oh boy.
