A police investigation is underway after police say a man shot at officers in Chino Wednesday night.
According to the Chino Police Department, officers pulled over a driver for a vehicle code violation on the 12800 Block of Central Avenue shortly before 10 p.m.
When officers approached, they found a woman was driving and a man was in the passenger seat.
The man struggled with officers, pulled out a weapon and fired one shot at officers, police said.
Officers fired back and shot the man. He was transported to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
One officer did sustain an injury but it was not life-threatening. He was treated and released from the hospital.
Central Avenue was shut down between Riverside and Washington as the investigation continued.
