Significant delays are being reported on the Fitchburg commuter rail line on Wednesday morning, the MBTA reports.
The MBTA Commuter Rail’s X account said trains may experience “significant delays” in both directions due to a switch issue in the Lincoln area. They said additional updates and individual train alerts will be sent.
One commuter rail rider told NBC10 Boston that their train was already running 10-15 minutes late before encountering a signal issue in Lincoln. They said the train has been sitting idle for the past 30 minutes, and one of the train cars doesn’t have any heat.
No further details were immediately available.
