A driver was taken into custody after crashing into the lobby of a police station in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
The crash, which happened just after 2 p.m. at the police station on Maple Avenue, is believed to have been an intentional act, according to Shrewsbury Police Chief Kevin Anderson.
“It appears to be intentional,” Anderson said. “We have dealt with this person in the past, we have not dealt with this person since 2019.”
The driver was taken to a hospital with injuries, police said, but authorities did not have information about that person’s condition.
No one inside the building was hurt, according to police.
Anderson said the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office is looking into the case, and charges will be brought. The driver, whose name was not released, is expected to be arraigned Tuesday at Westborough District Court.

Footage from the scene more than two hours later showed the vehicle, with its hazards on, still in the lobby. Officers were standing outside the damaged front door, and drones were also overhead.
The crash is under investigation.
Police said the station’s lobby was closed. People wishing to file police reports can do so by calling 508-845-1212. The public should still call 911 in the case of an emergency.
