Prince Harry became the Duke of Sussex when he married Meghan Markle, but he was also granted several honorary titles. After receiving his dukedom, Harry was named the Captain General of the Royal Marines, a role once held by Prince Philip.

 "Don't f*** it up," Philip warned his grandson, per Daily Express.

Years later, Prince Harry praised Prince Philip's blunt demeanor.

"He will be remembered as the longest-reigning consort to the Monarch, a decorated serviceman, a Prince and a Duke," Harry said, according to People. "But to me, like many of you who have lost a loved one or grandparent over the pain of this past year, he was my grandpa: master of the barbecue, legend of banter and cheeky right 'til the end."

Prince Harry was later stripped of his honorary military title when he and Meghan Markle left the royal fold. According to royal experts, Prince Philip was disappointed by the Sussexes' decision.

"Philip couldn't understand why Meghan wouldn't simply support Harry and the monarchy the way he had supported the Queen," Ingrid Seward told Daily Mail. "He gave up everything — his career, his identity — for duty. That shaped his entire outlook."

"I think he's very, very disappointed because I think he feels he gave up his naval career in order to stand by the Queen and help the monarchy," Ingrid Seward continued. "And why can't Meghan just give up her acting career, support her husband and support the monarchy?"
