Western plans for Iran are self defeating. As most Iranians disapprove of, the usual suspects would, if they could, break Iran apart. That common knowledge is the best defence the regime has. The majority of Iranians dislike clerical rule but neither do they want to go the way of Libya or Syria. Iranians want social progress and genuine democracy.
