An investigation is underway in the Everglades after a body was found floating in the mangroves on Sunday, deputies said.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies received reports of a dead person who was found by Park Ranges in the mangroves.
When crews with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived, they pulled the man out of the water and pronounced him dead at the scene.
His identity has not been released, and the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
A homicide investigation remains active.
