
South Florida got off to a cold start on Monday morning with widespread temperatures in the upper-40s.
Here’s what to expect for the CFP National Championship tonight, and how long the cold will stick around.
How cold is it in South Florida?
Miami and Fort Lauderdale started Monday at 47 degrees with feel-like conditions at 43, and it’ll be a windy and chilly day across the area.
High temperatures will struggle to make it to 68 degrees. North winds remain strong and gusting up to 25 mph at times.
How cold will it get for the CFP National Championship?
Monday night will be another cool one, staying cold but not quite as chilly as the morning.
For the National Championship game, temperatures will linger in the low-60s with feel-like conditions in the upper-50s. Layers and long sleeves may be needed if you’ll be out and about.
Overnight lows fall back into the mid-50s, which is below normal again.
When will it warm up?
South Florida will climb back into the mid-70s by Tuesday afternoon.
It’ll remain breezy through midweek, with each day slightly warmer than the day before through Thursday.
Then another frontal system arrives and we see more rain in the forecast.

A 40% chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. East wind 6 to 9 mph.
