Comment on Should The Steelers Interview Sean McDermott? by Black and Gold mafia
I'm of the opinion they shouldn't. Sean McDermott isn't a bad coach and seems to be a 1st class human being. He is however 51 years old. That just doesn't seem to fit with what they're telling/showing us they want to do. Based on the first round of interviews previous head coaching experience doesn't seem to be an important criteria for the Steelers search for a new coach. McCarthy is the only candidate older than 44 years old. The front office making it quite clear that they are looking for something new not something recycled. I'd much rather see this organization try and fail at doing something different then staying on this mushy middle trajectory. Hiring McDermott wouldn't be striking a brave new path.

In reply to WyoBowhunter. Josh Allen is a hot-n-cold, live or die gun slinger. He can be outstandingly good or he can look like a bum. There is no in between with these types of QBs.

In reply to Steelers fan since 76. Reportedly is nothing but pure speculation and with the Buffalo job open they’ll probably get their choice and that could be Shula. It’s a much better opportunity to win now
