Several school buses were burned during an overnight fire at a bus yard in Framingham, Massachusetts. The fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday morning at a bus lot on Fountain Street. The buses serve Framingham Public Schools. An initial investigation suggests that the fire began in the engine compartment of one bus, and spread to four other buses, according to a spokesperson for the State Fire Marshal. State and local investigators have been working on this. No evidence has been sound to suggest the fire was set on purpose. Additional details were not immediately available. We’ve reached out to Framingham Public Schools to learn if the overnight fire will impact students’ morning pickups.

Segun Idowu, who has served as Mayor Michelle Wu’s economic development chief since 2021, is resigning from his role. Idowu plans to leave his position at the end of February, the Globe reported Monday night. Idowu did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Business Journal. An 11-story building immediately next to Old South Church in Downtown Crossing is being proposed for conversion into 255 apartments. An affiliate of the real estate firm Synergy has filed an application to turn the building at 294 Washington St. into residential use while keeping the existing ground-floor retail.
