Comment on Insider: Steelers ‘Internally Reviewing Other Names’ For Head Coach Before Narrowing List by Nate - RTR
Sean McDermott is the No. 1 candidate available on the market. In the last six seasons, he is 73-23, which is a .760 winning percentage. Over his career, he has a .622 winning percentage. Among active coaches, only Nick Sirianni and Jim Harbaugh are better. In the last six years, Sean has eight playoff wins, and the Bills played in two AFC Championship games, losing both to Patrick Mahomes. There is nothing to discuss here. There is no secret sauce. There are no mysterious tea leaves. Hire Sean McDermott.

Spending doesn't necessarily mean cap spending. That can also mean a lot of other things. Their analytics department is about the smallest in the league. Their facilities are one of the worst in the league, if not the worst (sharing a tiny facility with the local college team is not what anyone else does). Now that he's gone, what other reason would free agents want to go there? Not to mention that the staff is the smallest in the league (no one has ever said definitively whether that was a Tomlin thing or a Rooney thing.)

In reply to Black and Gold mafia. You very well could be right. And I’ll eagerly be anticipating his scouting report. I just don’t see the physicality or route savvy that separates Drake London from guys like Chase Claypool or Keon Coleman. It’s still early in the process and my opinion is likely subject to change after I watch more of his tape. Just my initial observations.
