Comment on The Terrible Podcast — Weidl GM Interview, McCarthy Discussion, Roethlisberger’s 2 Cents, 2026 QB & More by Roberto
Your love for Will Howard reminds me of the way you “fan boyed” for Kenny Pickett a few years ago. A gritty personality and a local address doesn’t a starting quarterback make. You both should know that! As I recall, you were somewhat high on Malik Willis when he came out in the draft. Perhaps the Steelers should go get Willis and let him compete with Rudolph and Howard for the starting nod in 2026. I would be surprised if either of the young guys can beat out Mason, but if they do that would be great. Fingers crossed that the 2027 QB draft has some depth and the Steelers can go get a long term solution at the position. Meanwhile, follow Ben’s strategy and beef up the team with a large draft class and smart FA moves this year.

NFL Bound Jeremiyah Love Nearing Dreamy Outcome on Gamble to Leave Notre Dame Early
The margin between timing and payoff in the NFL draft is unforgiving. Declare early, and the board has to bend your way. Miss the window, and the league moves on without you. Comment on ‘Mike Tomlin Vibe’: Nate Scheelhaase Had ‘Impressive Interview’ With Steelers, Dulac Says by Tibs
Most likely due to sentimental reasons seeped in Steelers lore and tradition, I'd much prefer one of these younger, up-and-coming guys, like Shula or Scheelhaase, to an older, more established coach. The thought of hiring a guy like McCarthy, then "running it back" with Rodgers et al sends shivers down my spine. This hire needs to be looking ahead for the next five, ten years and beyond, to establish a Next Gen version of the Steelers, as we've had under Noll, Cowher, and Tomlin. I love what I've see from both Shula or Scheelhaase, but don't look at them as a package deal. If we hire one or the other, I presume they'd be better matched with a more vested, experienced OC and DC. But who knows.

In reply to Go Steelers. Did I say it backwards, sorry was working and doing two things at once lol I meant even though Shula is a Defensive guy, coming from the McVay tree he would be much more open offensivly to knowing what the game is and how important it is to stay a head of the curve and not stuck in your ways
