Man dies after officer shooting in Chino

A standoff is underway in the North Hills area as a man refuses to exit a vehicle early Thursday. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to the area near Hayvenhurst Avenueand Schoenborn Street shortly after 3 a.m. where they saw a man slumped over in his car that was parked. When officers approached the car, they saw a gun on the passenger seat. The man was conscious but did not respond when police asked him to exit the vehicle. The incident turned into a barricade after the driver did not respond to the officers’ request. The area was closed off until further notice, LAPD said.
