The ‘real Madeline’ slams Lily Allen over David Harbour affair allegations

Natalie Tippett has spoken out after ‘Madeline’ allegations (Picture: Instagram/ Getty) Natalie Tippett, who allegedly inspired Lily Allen’s song Madeline, has spoken out about the singer following affair rumours. In October, the LDN hitmaker Lily, 40, dropped her first album since 2018, earning critical acclaim for her soul-baring lyrics that chronicle the breakdown of her marriage to Stranger Things star David Harbour, 50. What came afterwards was an onslaught of cheating allegations against David, with Lily even referring to his alleged infidelity on her latest record and suggesting he went against their open ‘arrangement’ to only have sex with strangers outside their marriage. In a song titled Madeline, the pop star sings about confronting David’s other woman over text, asking: ‘How long has it been going on? Is it just sex or is there emotion?’ Natalie Tippett then revealed to The Mail on Sunday that she was the Madeline being referred to in the song and that Lily used her private messages as lyrics. Natalie has now spoken out about Lily on her social media, denying that there was any affair and saying she felt violated by the twisted narrative that’s been portrayed. Lily’s lyrics revealed the intimate details of their marriage (Picture: Lia Toby/Getty Images) The couple tied the knot in 2020 (Picture: Max Cisotti/Dave Benett/Getty Images) ‘I did not have a three-year affair with anyone,’ she said in a post on her Instagram Story. ‘I’m unsure why this person wants so badly to pit people against me or create this narrative that we both know is false, based on the actual messages that I have saved between us. ‘The same ones that have now been referenced in a song without my consent.’ She went on to add that she felt ‘extremely violated’ and had been receiving hateful messages from people online that she didn’t want to share. @metroentertainment @lilyallenwe are sat 👏 Lily Allen latest album ‘West End Girl’ has dropped and in an interview with Perfect magazine Lily explained how it was inspired by her “deep-rooted issues with rejection and abandonment” after a divorce. The album was described by The Guardian as “a gobsmacking autopsy of marital betrayal” and Lily also explained that she, “thought it was happily ever after, you know?” Have you listened to the album yet? 👀 #lilyallen #westendgirl #musictok #celebritynews #davidharbour ♬ Madeline – Lily Allen Natalie added: ‘I’m not sure why any fixation landed on me, I don’t weaponise women against women for the behaviour of men, especially not in an open relationship. ‘I’m wishing her all the success, money, healing and happiness and whatever else she is seeking through this.’ She concluded: ‘I’m aware of the repercussions of speaking out on this may cause, but I can’t imagine anything worse than what’s already been said, as well as having to watch someone profit off painful lies…’ She added as a reminder to followers that she is a ‘single mother’ and wanted people to ‘remember’ she is a human and ‘not some character someone created.’ The singer appeared on SNL over the weekend(Picture: NBC) Lily appeared on Saturday Night Live as a musical guest this weekend to perform some of her top hits from the album, West End Girl. As the 40-year-old sang her song Madeline, Dakota Johnson made a surprise appearance to speak the alleged texts Lily received from Madeline. ‘I hate that you’re in so much pain right now. I really don’t wanna be the cause of any upset. He told me that you were aware this was going on and that he had your full consent,’ said Dakota from a bed on the stage. The actress continued: ‘If he’s lying about that, then please let me know. Because I have my own feelings about dishonesty. Lies are not something that I wanna get caught up in.’ ‘You can reach out to me any time, by the way. If you need any more details or you just need to vent or anything.’ She then walked out from behind the curtain behind the singer. ‘Love and light, Madeline,’ she said before tilting…

Chris Hoy’s children asked ‘Is it because I was naughty?’ after terminal cancer diagnosis

Chris Hoy was diagnosed with terminal cancer last year (Picture: BBC) Sir Chris Hoy’s ‘scared’ children asked if they were to blame for his terminal cancer diagnosis, his wife has revealed in a heartbreaking interview. Team GB legend Hoy announced in February 2024 that he was undergoing treatment for prostate cancer. Hoy, one of the greatest Olympians of all time with six gold medals, said in October of last year that his diagnosis was terminal. Doctors gave the 49-year-old between two and four years to live after the primary cancer spread to his bones. Hoy continues to receive ‘loving support’ from his wife, Lady Sarra Hoy, and 11-year-old son Callum and eight-year-old daughter Chloe. ‘The kids are supporting Chris by embracing him with their love,’ Lady Hoy said in a new BBC show, Sir Chris Hoy: Cancer, Courage & Me, which airs at 9pm on Thursday night on BBC One. ‘They knew he was having his medicine. I wanted to make cancer and chemotherapy part of our lives, I didn’t want them to be scared off it. Team GB legend Hoy with his wife Lady Sarra (Picture: Getty) ‘I don’t want them to ever remember being sat down and told something, I want it to be something that evolves and they can grow with.’ Hoy’s wife also opened up on the immediate impact of the cancer diagnosis on their two young children. ‘They were scared, they had heard about cancer,’ she said. ‘Questions came very quickly. https://www.instagram.com/p/DSRy6kgDTNh/ ‘Will he die? Will I catch it? Did I cause it? Is it because I was naughty? They didn’t quite verbalise that but that’s one of the very common things for children [who’s parents are affected by cancer]. ‘We’ve got a big cherry blossom tree in the garden that we all love. I quickly realised that Chris’ chemo would finish when the cherry tree in the garden would be blossoming. ‘So we painted a big tree with no leaves on it and then I bought some pink blossom and every day the kids wake up and stick a piece of blossom on the tree with the idea that we are helping Daddy regrow. Hoy is one of the greatest Olympians of all time (Picture: Getty) ‘I’m trying to do it for Chris really as much as the children, to show Chris the trees are stripped bare and taken down to nothing but they regrow.’ On the touching morning routine, Sir Chris said: ‘Every day you would come down for breakfast and it would look a little bit bushier, the inverse of me because I was getting more and more unwell. ‘But actually it showed me that I was getting through this and it was doing something positive.’ https://www.instagram.com/p/DSRwftSjGwU/ Hoy, who was born in Edinburgh, won six Olympic gold medals – and one silver medal – between 2000 and 2012, making him Britain’s second-most decorated Olympian behind Sir Jason Kenny. The cycling legend also won 11 World Championship golds and a staggering 34 World Cup titles before retiring in 2013. Since then, Hoy has been a popular pundit for the BBC at multiple Olympic Games and cycling events. Speaking last month, Hoy said his cancer diagnosis has ‘in some ways’ improved his life as it has changed his outlook. ‘It’s changed my life without question, but I think in some ways it’s improved my life,’ Hoy said. ‘It’s changed my outlook on a lot of things. ‘I’m not as bothered by small things. I think I try and focus on the here and the now, enjoying the moment, making the most of today, and trying to find something positive in any situation. ‘And even at the very least, trying just to reject negativity, because it brings you down. If you can just, in any situation, look for the positives and surround yourself with people that are the same. ‘I’m doing well. I’m able to keep doing all the things that I enjoy, spend a lot of time with my family, and I hope to be around for a lot longer yet.’ For more stories like this, check our sport page. EastEnders legends reveal ‘brave’ episode that has left cast in the dark

A lot of drama lies ahead over the next few years (Picture: BBC) EastEnders stars Michelle Collins and Adam Woodyatt have revealed what it was like to film the upcoming flashforward episode. Last month, the BBC One soap confirmed that an instalment will air on 2026’s New Year’s Day, that’s set in 2027. It will follow Max Branning (Jake Wood), as he finds himself in a sticky situation – one that, in typical Walford fashion, will not only have huge consequences for himself but also for his family. Multiple events will unfold simultaneously, which means that 2026 will be one to watch for audiences, with many secrets waiting to be discovered alongside a plethora of drama that would be hard for anyone – yes even Max! – to talk themselves out of. The episode in question will provide clues about what is yet to unfold for Max – and those around him – in 2026, meaning that fans will have plenty to speculate about. The flashforward focuses on Max Branning (Picture: BBC) Discussing the storyline, EastEnders boss Ben Wadey said: ‘For the first time in the show’s history, we’re going to be offering our viewers an entire flashforward episode set on New Year’s Day 2027. ‘2026 is going to be full of drama in Walford, especially for the Brannings, and the episode is sure to raise plenty of questions on how Max has got himself, and his family, into such predicaments, but all is not what it seems, so stay tuned for 2026 to find out how and why…’ Earlier today, Michelle and Adam, who play Cindy and Ian Beale, appeared on Scott Mills’ Radio 2 Breakfast Show to discuss what’s ahead for the Albert Square residents over the festive period, and how it was tricky to film the New Year’s Day flashforward. Adam explained more: ‘You’re literally thinking, why am I looking at this person? Can’t tell you. Why am I saying this to this person? Can’t tell you. We’re going to go on a journey like the viewers, over the next year, and find out how we’ve ended up at this point.’ The troublesome character returns this week (Picture: BBC) Michelle added: ‘They only give us the bits that we’re in. I always ask questions, and they were like nope, cannot answer! That is a very weird experience, doing a scene and you don’t know why you’re doing it. It’s very odd.’ Adam pondered over how much he’s looking forward to finding out more storyline information over the course of the year, while Michelle called the episode ‘brave’. In the lead up to the episode, focus is on Max, who does a very good job at clashing with everyone he lays his eyes on. On Christmas Day, the Brannings and Beales prepare to eat Christmas dinner together on the big day. Things get off to a tricky start though as Cindy returns, forcing Ian and Peter Beale (Thomas Law) to spring into action to try and keep her away from Max. Max is back in town to show his family that he’s changed (Picture: BBC) As the dinner begins, it’s clear Max is still brewing over Oscar’s revelation, and it’s not long before chaos ensues when more than one truth sparks fireworks at the table. With 2026 looming, the Beales and Brannings attempt to put on a brave face to celebrate Jimmy’s christening. Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and Peter’s attention is consumed by the prospect of Cindy and Max meeting for the first time, and they make a mutual decision to uninvite Max due to his behaviour at Christmas. Scottish Open hit with string of withdrawals as big names pull out

Mark Williams has opted out of a trip to play in the Scottish Open (Picture: Getty Images) There have been a number of late withdrawals from the Scottish Open, with big names opting out of a trip to Edinburgh this week. It is the third instalment of the Home Nations Series this season, after Mark Allen’s win at the English Open and Jack Lisowski’s memorable triumph at the Northern Ireland Open. The tournament is held at the Meadowbank Sports Centre in the Scottish capital and boasts a top prize of £100,000. However, that healthy winner’s cheque is not enough to tempt all the top players in the game, with some not entering and others pulling out before the tournament got underway, Judd Trump, Ronnie O’Sullivan and Ding Junhui all chose not to enter the Scottish Open and were never in the draw. However, Mark Williams and Neil Robertson were expected to be playing but have withdrawn from the event. Robert Milkins and Jak Jones have also pulled out of the tournament, leaving the draw in Edinburgh looking a bit of a mess. Former winner Neil Robertson is not playing in Edinburgh (Picture: Getty Images) The opponents of the four players who have withdrawn have been given byes to the last 32, meaning world champion Zhao Xintong, Matthew Stevens, He Guoqiang and Ben Mertens all progress without hitting a ball. As there have already been qualification rounds to reach this stage, the withdrawn players cannot be replaced in the draw. The walkover wins are handy early Christmas presents for those four players as they are guaranteed £5,400 in prize money already. The entire round of 32 is being played on Wednesday so they will play their first games in Edinburgh then. Robert Milkins has chosen to not take on Zhao Xintong (Picture: Getty Images) Despite a string of top stars choosing not to play in Scotland, there remain plenty of big names in the field and looking to lift the Stephen Hendry Trophy on Sunday. The likes of Mark Selby, John Higgins, Kyren Wilson, Mark Allen, Shaun Murphy and two-time champion Gary Wilson are all in Edinburgh this week. As is defending champion Lei Peifan and last year’s runner-up Wu Yize, who are looking for more Scottish success after their fine runs 12 months ago. He is runaway favourite to beat Northern Irish youngster Robbie McGuigan in the opening round and has won this tournament twice before. However, the Scottish Open has proved very unusual in the last three years since its move to Edinburgh. Back-to-back wins for Gary Wilson, downing Joe O’Connor and Noppon Saengkham in his finals, followed by Lei beating Wu to lift the trophy last year. It has been a great event for underdogs of late.
