Natalie Tippett, who allegedly inspired Lily Allen’s song Madeline, has spoken out about the singer following affair rumours.

In October, the LDN hitmaker Lily, 40, dropped her first album since 2018, earning critical acclaim for her soul-baring lyrics that chronicle the breakdown of her marriage to Stranger Things star David Harbour, 50.

What came afterwards was an onslaught of cheating allegations against David, with Lily even referring to his alleged infidelity on her latest record and suggesting he went against their open ‘arrangement’ to only have sex with strangers outside their marriage.

In a song titled Madeline, the pop star sings about confronting David’s other woman over text, asking: ‘How long has it been going on? Is it just sex or is there emotion?’

Natalie Tippett then revealed to The Mail on Sunday that she was the Madeline being referred to in the song and that Lily used her private messages as lyrics.

Natalie has now spoken out about Lily on her social media, denying that there was any affair and saying she felt violated by the twisted narrative that’s been portrayed.

‘I did not have a three-year affair with anyone,’ she said in a post on her Instagram Story.

‘I’m unsure why this person wants so badly to pit people against me or create this narrative that we both know is false, based on the actual messages that I have saved between us.

‘The same ones that have now been referenced in a song without my consent.’

She went on to add that she felt ‘extremely violated’ and had been receiving hateful messages from people online that she didn’t want to share.

Natalie added: ‘I’m not sure why any fixation landed on me, I don’t weaponise women against women for the behaviour of men, especially not in an open relationship.

‘I’m wishing her all the success, money, healing and happiness and whatever else she is seeking through this.’

She concluded: ‘I’m aware of the repercussions of speaking out on this may cause, but I can’t imagine anything worse than what’s already been said, as well as having to watch someone profit off painful lies…’

She added as a reminder to followers that she is a ‘single mother’ and wanted people to ‘remember’ she is a human and ‘not some character someone created.’

Lily appeared on Saturday Night Live as a musical guest this weekend to perform some of her top hits from the album, West End Girl.

As the 40-year-old sang her song Madeline, Dakota Johnson made a surprise appearance to speak the alleged texts Lily received from Madeline.

‘I hate that you’re in so much pain right now. I really don’t wanna be the cause of any upset. He told me that you were aware this was going on and that he had your full consent,’ said Dakota from a bed on the stage.

The actress continued: ‘If he’s lying about that, then please let me know. Because I have my own feelings about dishonesty. Lies are not something that I wanna get caught up in.’

‘You can reach out to me any time, by the way. If you need any more details or you just need to vent or anything.’

She then walked out from behind the curtain behind the singer.

‘Love and light, Madeline,’ she said before tilting her head to lay a kiss on the Lily’s cheek as the performance concluded.
