Las Vegas Raiders fans seem cautiously optimistic about current state of franchise
Raiders

We figures the timing was right.

This week, for our Tuesday Community Question, we asked our readers how they feel about the current state of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Some fans are nervous, but many seem cautiously optimistic about the change that is coming. Here are some of your responses:

Now that Pete Carroll is gone, I’m certain the past 20 years of sucking is now gone since it was all his fault.

I’m also certain that since Brendan Carroll is now gone the past decade+ of the oline sucking is now gone as well since it was all his fault.

Not sure what we can blame his other kid for, but lets keep the narrative that the past 20 years of dog doo doo has all been because of all the Carrolls.

Never mind the fact that we have the #1 overall pick, 9 other picks, most cap space in NFL history, no money in dead space- Never have the Raiders been in better shape at an end of a season -That has nothing to do with Pete and the past year- he is to blame for the past 20 years.

The nonsense here compares to the same nonsense of those who support the self proclaimed ” Acting President of Venezuela” , whose intellect feels no country is theirs just because a boat landed there 500 years ago. (or perhaps in 1620 as well) Carry on

Until the HC, OC, and DC positions with good candidates with a vision on how to improve the team the question is impossible to answer. But since the question has been asked prematurely my answer would be not good. IMO Tom doesn’t need to be in charge of anything and should be told to either let his GM do his job or replace the GM with a candidate that can do his job without any input from a part-time minority owner that was given shares of the team for no reason more than being just the next guy to fool the idiot majority owner. Now obviously I agree that Mark doesn’t know anything about football but his decisions on who he listens to have been detrimental to the team since 2017 when he decided to fire JDR at the end of the season to bring back Gruden (who NOBODY else was hiring). Listening to Jim Gray led to Tom which led to this past season terrible choices. So in the end again I’d think the question shouldn’t be asked until the HC,OC, and DC are hired.

Now that Pete and his Son is gone; I would say the OLine should be vastly improved. Mendoza shouldn’t have anything to worry about on that front.

Not good. We need to let our full time GM do his job and quit meddling from St Bart’s. Just because a guy was a great Qzb with a great coach on great teams that won a lot of rings does not mean he knows how to run a billion dollar organization.

I’m really excited. There’s allot of positives now and more on the horizon.

The now:

1st pick in the draft
$110M cap
Beautiful home and practice facility

Horizon:

New qualified head coach
His new coaching staff
New free agents
Mendoza and other rookies
No more Geno

I don’t trust Brady. If Spytek can get his guy & we act like professionals we will be fine. Mendoza will help

Feeling a lot better with the #1 pick, but I don’t know if anything sustainable and successful can be built of Brady (or God forbid, Jim Gray) are the loudest voices in the room. They’ve proven nothing, no moves worth defending, just politicking and deflection.

Hard to imagine them getting a coach with the credibility to do things the way he wants, which means the reign of sycophants, celebrities and incompetents will continue.

We have the #1 pick. I just saw the consensus #1 QB curb stomp the #5 team like Pete Carroll was coaching the Ducks. Geno threw 17 picks this season to 19 TDs. Pete ain’t here anymore. Need I say more?
