Bayern Munich’s big 3-1 victory over FC Köln in the Bundesliga came at a price. How steep? We likely will not know until Thursday.
Bayern Munich stars Harry Kane, Konrad Laimer and Hiroki Itō all picked up knocks during the match, but Laimer’s calf issue could be a problem — especially with Josip Stanišić and Joshua Kimmich both injured and Sacha Boey out sick for over a month now.
“Konny felt something in his calf. We have to wait. We’ll be back to Munich tomorrow and he’ll have a scan. The others (Kane and Itō) were able to play through. We have many games in a short period. Hopefully Jamal (Musiala) and Phonzy (Alphonso Davies) will be back soon. And hopefully Konny is fine,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
This is not the ideal time to lose Laimer, but the squad will have to persevere. Bayern Munich is set to face off with RB Leipzig this weekend.
