The Warriors are coming off their second straight win of this eight-game homestand after defeating the Sacramento Kings on Friday night, 137-103. Golden State took firm control of the game with a strong finish to the third quarter, closing the frame on a 13–0 run.
Stephen Curry scored a team-high 27 points, while the Warriors’ bench delivered 66 points, paced by De’Anthony Melton’s 19. The win pushed Golden State three games above .500 for the first time since November and handed the Kings their seventh loss in a row.
What to watch for tonight:
Golden State now turns its attention to an Atlanta team that has undergone significant changes over the past week. On Wednesday, the Hawks traded four-time All-Star point guard Trae Young to the Washington Wizards in a deal that brought back CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert. The move marked the end of an era in Atlanta as the franchise shifts its focus toward building around fifth-year forward Jalen Johnson, who is enjoying a breakout year, averaging 23.7 points per game this season.
Meanwhile, the Warriors have found success by settling into a more consistent rotation. Head coach Steve Kerr has narrowed his lineup, and the clarity has helped players grow more comfortable in their roles. That confidence has shown up most clearly in the turnover department as Golden State has committed just 10 or fewer turnovers in each of its last three games.
