Nearly a week removed from a sluggish performance on the road against a middling Northwestern team, the Iowa Women’s Basketball team (13-2, 4-0 B1G) find themselves on the road again for this afternoon’s match against the Indiana Hoosiers (11-6, 0-5 B1G).
Like Monday’s road trip, this is a game that the Hawkeyes should be able to win with relative ease. The Hoosiers, like the Wildcats, are cellar-dwellers of the Big Ten, and come into the game on a 4-game losing streak. Iowa will need to come into this game with a little more fire than they showed on Monday, despite the gutty win. This is a game that Iowa should be able to come home with relatively easily, but if they continue the poor performance we saw on Monday (bad free throw shooting, foul trouble up and down the roster), we could have another nail biter again in a situation where it really shouldn’t be.
But, I’m going to hope that the team is healthy again (Chit-Chat Wright was allegedly sick on Monday and yet still was a huge contributor) and that they had a good week of practice in preparation for this team. Bottom-tier team or not, Indiana should still never be overlooked.
Injury wise, Iowa will once again be without Emely Rodriguez as she deals with back issues, and Kylie Feuerbach is once again listed as questionable.
