Chromebooks aren’t the most powerful computers out there, but they do a pretty darn good job of getting users access to all the essentials when it comes to on-the-go computing. That said, ASUS recently announced the launch of the Chromebook CM32 Detachable, a 2-in-1 device designed to transition between a traditional laptop experience and a more straightforward tablet device.
One big feature of the CM32 is its 12.1-inch 2.5K touchscreen display, which comes with a sharp 2560×1600 resolution, a high 120Hz refresh rate, with up to 600 nits of brightness. The display also includes an anti-fingerprint coating to keep the touch interface clean during heavy use.
Inside, the device is powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 540 processor, with two available RAM configurations at 4GB or 8GB LPDDR5X memory, paired with up to 128GB of storage. For connectivity, the tablet also supports WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, in addition to a USB-C port for charging and external displays. There’s also a pair of 5-megapixel cameras on the front and rear of the device.
Finally, there’s a 42Wh battery as well, which ASUS says can last for up to 13 hours of continuous usage.
