TGL is expanding later this year, with the creation of a new Women's TGL league.
The LPGA and TGL owner TMRW Sports announced the formation of Women's TGL (WTGL), a new league that will feature LPGA Tour stars competing in SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
While details are somewhat scant about WTGL, the inaugural season is set to launch at the end of 2026 or early 2027, following the November completion of the 2026 LPGA Tour season.
“Partnering with TMRW Sports on WTGL reflects our belief that innovation can help the game reach new fans and create greater visibility for LPGA athletes,” said LPGA commissioner Craig Kessler, who took over the role in July.
“I’ve seen how new formats can engage audiences while showcasing both athlete personality and performance, and WTGL brings that spirit of innovation to the women’s game. It creates another global stage for our athletes—one that helps fans connect more deeply with them and continues to elevate the visibility and growth of women’s golf.”
How many WTGL teams will be formed in the debut season is still to be determined, with TMRW Sports looking at investor groups to form city-based teams. TGL debuted with and still currently has six teams, though a Detroit-based seventh team will debut in Season 3.
Alexis Ohanian, a co-founder of Reddit and owner of TGL's Los Angeles Golf Club, has said publicly that he has first right of refusal around a WTGL team representing Los Angeles.

"Now, along with the LPGA and its athletes, we look forward to creating a stage to help showcase the stars of the LPGA “WTGL’s short-form, team golf format will engage new audiences and complement the LPGA Tour’s global appeal.”
TGL's second season is now underway, with the third of 15 regular-season matches played Tuesday at SoFi Center, with The Bay Golf Club taking on reigning champions Atlanta Drive GC.
